Bernd Gross

Chief Executive Officer

Bernd Gross is the CEO of Cumulocity. With over 30 years of international experience, Bernd is a recognized pioneer in digitization, cloud computing, IoT, and Industry 4.0. Bernd co-founded Cumulocity in 2012 and successfully positioned it as a key player in the IoT space. Cumulocity was acquired by Software AG in 2017; however, the brand continued to operate independently, with Bernd serving in the dual capacity of CTO at Software AG and CEO of Cumulocity. Prior to this, he held leadership positions at Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks, where he led global innovation management.

He holds a Master’s degree in Information & Communication Technology and an MBA from London Business School.

Dr. Jürgen Krämer

Chief Product Officer

Dr. Jürgen Krämer is the Chief Product Officer at Cumulocity, with responsibility for the brand’s entire product and service portfolio, its vision, and strategy to drive innovation and growth. He oversees the product management, product marketing, professional services, and partner ecosystem teams.

Jürgen holds a PhD with honours in Computer Science and has over 20 years of international professional experience, encompassing software development and general management. He previously served as CEO and co-founder of a data analytics spin-off from the University of Marburg, which was acquired by Software AG in 2010. He was twice named one of Germany’s “Top 40 under 40” by Capital magazine and is a member of the BITKOM Management Club.

Jari Salminen

Chief Revenue Officer

Jari Salminen is the Chief Revenue Officer at Cumulocity, where he leads sales, marketing, business development, and customer success. As the CRO, he is responsible for driving the company’s mission to achieve rapid, scalable growth by delivering exceptional value to customers.

With over 20 years of experience in global sales, Jari has a proven track record of delivering impactful results in competitive markets. He has held senior roles at global leaders such as Nokia, Vodafone, and F-Secure, where he developed innovative sales strategies and led high-performing teams to achieve strong revenue growth.

Jari holds an MBA from Henley Business School and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology.

Philip Hooker

Chief Operating Officer

Philip Hooker is the Chief Operating Officer at Cumulocity, where he oversees day-to-day business operations and ensures that internal processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with strategic objectives.

With over 25 years of experience in IoT, cloud, and digital transformation, he has worked with major global organizations like Orange, Barclays, and Nokia Networks, delivering impactful technology and consulting solutions. As a key figure in the history of Cumulocity, Philip has been influential in its growth as a leading platform from a wide range of business domains.

Philip holds an MBA from the University of Bath, and a Master’s degree in Engineering in Information Engineering, and certifications in ITIL, PRINCE2, and MSP, making him a trusted leader in IoT innovation and operational excellence.

Stefan Vaillant

Chief Technology Officer

Stefan Vaillant is the Co-founder and CTO of Cumulocity, where he oversees Engineering. Additionally, he leads Support and Cloud Operations to ensure 24x7 availability.

With over 35 years of experience in enterprise software development, he ensures that Cumulocity aligns the company’s business strategy, especially focusing on his favorite topics: cloud-native, scalability, and high availability. Prior to co-founding Cumulocity, Stefan spent 15 years at Nokia Networks, where he led the product management for Nokia’s IoT cloud platform and ecosystem. He also served as Chief Architect for Nokia’s management plane NetAct.

Stefan holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen.
